Sexuality

Sexuality is about your sexual preferences. It’s about how you express yourself in a sexual way. It’s about what you enjoy and how you enjoy it.

Sexual orientation is just one part of your sexuality and is about who you’re attracted to and who you want to have sex with.

LGBT+ is an acronym for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. The ‘+’ is used to be inclusive of other identities. ‘Q’ is sometimes used and refers to ‘queer’ or ‘questioning’. Sexual activity is not necessarily linked to sexual orientation. You may have sexual realtions with someone of the same gender but not identify as LGBT+.

Exploring your sexuality and sharing it with others can make you feel all sorts of things. ‘Coming out’ is also your choice. Whatever you feel, remember that it’s valid and we’re here to support you.
