Starting contraception
If you’re starting contraception (this includes implants and coils), please explore the different methods and then call us 01273 523 388 to arrange an appointment.
Contraception helps to prevent pregnancy. Long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) includes some of the most effective methods that don’t depend on you remembering to take or use them to be effective e.g. contraceptive implant, injection and coils (IUD and IUS). Other methods include pills (combined and progestogen-only), patches, vaginal rings, diaphragms and caps.
Switching or continuing contraception
For putting in or removing implants or coils, to get more pills, patches, injections, or if you’re experiencing problems with contraception, please call us 01273 523 388 to arrange an appointment. If you’ve had the contraceptive injection (Depo–Provera or Sayana Press) before, you can book a ‘Treatment Clinic’ appointment online at SHAC East (Log-in>Appointments>Sexual Health>Treatment Clinic).
