At the Lawson Unit, we are committed to ensuring that our patients remain at the centre of everything we do. Our Patient Panel meets three times a year and plays an important role in shaping the direction of our service. The Panel sets the agenda for each meeting, with discussions covering a wide range of topics including new developments in HIV care, updates on treatments and medications, and reviews of our departmental processes. This open and collaborative forum allows us to work in partnership with our patients, ensuring that their voices directly inform how we deliver and develop our services.
Next Meeting: Wednesday 28th January 2026 6pm @ The Lawson Unit
Actions from the previous meeting (17th September 2025)

Agenda for next meeting:
- We aimed to get a pharmaceutical company to talk at next meeting – unfortunately this is not possible due to strict regulation with pharma companies.
- CF to email Lawson Unit team and get local guest speaker to discuss current updates
- David and Nigel to update on next Lawson Unit Newsletter
How to get involved
We are really keen for our patients to get involved. There is no commitment and our panel members are free to attend as many meetings as they are able. Some members may choose to be involved but not attend any of the meetings (instead, they can receive minutes from each meeting and contribute to the group virtually).
We are dedicated to ensuring we have a representative patient panel group and particularly welcome new members from minority ethnic groups, younger people, women and people who identify as trans & non binary.
