First step
If it’s your first time ordering a home test kit from us you will need to create your online account to order through the portal.
You cannot order a test for someone else
We are a free and confidential NHS service, all patient records must be kept separate. Use your details when registering so we can contact you with your results. We cannot send your results to someone else’s number or email.
When you have an online account
Our home testing service is accessed through the login portal. You can order your test by logging in and selecting Home Test Kits.
Please check that this service is right for you, and which pack to choose before ordering as there are some situations in which we will not be able to send out a test:
Order an at home test kitYour home test is delivered
Kits are delivered discreetly in a recyclable bag, it looks like any other package you might receive in the post. Everything you need to send back to us for testing will be labelled with your unique patient number, to keep your identity confidential.
Our home test service is closed on the weekends. If you order on Friday, Saturday or Sunday your kit will be sent on Monday. We are also closed on Bank Holidays. You will receive a text once your test kit has been posted.
You can call 01273 523 222 if your kit has not arrived in 10 days.
Completing your samples
Please read the full instructions before completing your samples.
Unable to do your bloods?
Call us on 01273 523 222 to book into our quick and easy blood taking clinic. If you are unable to get enough blood you can still return the rest of the samples to us for testing.
Sending your samples back
Inside your kit, you will get a freepost box to send your samples back in. Please put your samples inside the absorbent pouch, then into the specimen bag and seal. Finally place this bag of samples inside the freepost box. Remove the yellow seal to stick the box shut. Put the box in any red Royal Mail post box the same day.
Samples received by SHAC
Once we receive your samples, we will send you a ‘samples sent’ text to let you know they have been sent to our laboratory for testing.
Your results
Results normally take around 2 weeks. You will either get a text or a call with your results. If you have an infection, we will call to arrange treatment with you.
If you have not received your results and it’s been 2 weeks since you received your samples sent text, give us a call on 01273 523 222.
