From May 2026, Brighton and Hove SHAC will be introducing new Personal Health Records (PHRs).
Your PHR will be a secure online account linked to your clinic record, designed to make managing your care simpler, more accessible, and more useful for you. You can use it on your phone, tablet, or computer whenever it suits you.
Your PHR will be specific to your sexual health records in our clinic only, and completely separate from your GP record, the NHS App, and other NHS services.
With your PHR account you will be able to:
- Book and cancel appointments online (where available)
- View upcoming appointments in one place
- Order at-home STI test kits
- See your test results (from clinic visits and home tests)
- Receive secure messages and information from our clinical team
- Update your contact details and personal preferences
Your care, your choice
Your PHR is an additional way to access our services — it does not replace existing options. If you prefer to phone us or attend a walk-in clinic, you will still be able to do so. Services such as EmERGE and PrEP EmERGE will also remain available as usual.
Your privacy and security
Your information is protected with strong security measures, including multi-factor authentication, so only you and authorised clinic staff can access your records.
How to register (from May 2026)
- Existing patients: You will receive an email from us with a unique link to create your PHR account. The email will come from [email protected], with the subject ‘Invitation to create a personal health record’. Look out for this email as it may go to your spam folder.
Once you have clicked on the link, you will receive instructions on how to complete your registration.
- New patients: You will be able to register for both a clinic record and a PHR account online using your own email address and mobile number.
More detailed guidance and FAQs on how to register will be available on our website from May.
