About SHAC West

SHAC West is based at the Weller Youth Centre, in Knoll Park, Hove.  Please note – Weller Youth Centre is a new building and may not appear on digital maps.  

There are two entrances to Knoll Park – either via the alleyway between 131-133 Stapley Road or the alleyway between 88 – 90 Rowan Ave. Follow the footpath past the Hangleton Bowls Club. Weller Youth Centre is next to the old bowling pavilion.  

Press the door buzzer to the left of the main entrance and wait to be let in. Enter through the main doors and ask at reception for SHAC West.  

Information:

If you are coming by bike or e-scooter you will not be allowed to bring it into the clinic, there are bike anchor points outside the main door.

SHAC West is fully accessible for wheelchair users. 

How to get here 

The nearest bus stops are Maytree Walk and Old School Place   both of which are a short walk from the building. View bus times online or call Brighton and Hove Bus Company on 01273 886 200.

The nearest Beryl BTN Bike bays are in Applesham Avenue, a five minute walk from the venue. 

Services at this location

We offer a range of sexual health services and contraception options for anyone under the age of 25.

Information:

We don’t have the facilities at this location to assess people with symptoms. If you have symptoms please go to our walk in service SHAC Central. 

At SHAC West we offer testing for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) for people who don’t have symptoms, preventions (including PrEP) and treatments for people with a positive result for an STI.

We can discuss contraception options and start most methods on site, however some methods (such as coils) will need a booked appointment in one of our other clinics. We can also offer signposting for wellbeing support and have home testing kits available on site for people who are asymptomatic and prefer testing at home.

If you don’t have symptoms we also offer walk in appointments from 15:00pm – 17:30pm, if you arrive and we are unable to see you, then we will suggest alternative options.
