Dr. Gillian Dean is an experienced Consultant in Sexual Health and HIV Medicine with over 30 years of expertise in the field. Based at the Claude Nicol Centre and serving as a Trustee for the Martin Fisher Foundation, Dr. Dean is dedicated to improving HIV testing rates and reducing HIV stigma in Brighton & Hove. Her work focuses on HIV prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment, ensuring patients receive comprehensive, compassionate care.
A key leader in Brighton’s Fast-Track City initiative, Dr. Dean has been instrumental in helping the city exceed the global 95-95-95 targets for HIV testing, treatment, and viral suppression. Her advocacy extends into public health education, where she works on initiatives such as the HIV-themed public information bus to raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding HIV.
Dr. Dean is passionate about making HIV testing more accessible and is involved in several community outreach programs aimed at breaking down barriers to testing and treatment.
