If you have been told by someone you’ve had sex with recently that they have been diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection (STI) we need to see you in person in one of our clinics. If you know when you had sex with the person concerned or the person is your regular partner, you may not need to wait for test results before starting treatment. If you have been notified anonymously or are not sure about when the sex happened, we will discuss testing and treatment timeframes with you. If you have been in contact with an STI we recommend not having sex until you have either completed treatment or have tested negative after a suitable length of time
