The Solar Clinic is a specialist service at Claude Nicol Centre that offers support, information, sexual health testing and advice and information for individuals following rape or sexual assault.

Who is this service for?

Anyone who has been raped or sexually assaulted, this can be recently or a long time ago.

Where is this clinic?

The Solar clinic is based at SHAC East.

When is it available?

Tuesday mornings from 9.30 to 12.30.

What we offer at the Solar Clinic

Sexual health screening and checks including blood tests
Management of any symptoms following a sexual assault
Referral into support services and opportunity to meet with Survivors Network worker
Discussion of police reporting options
Vaccination for hepatitis B, emergency contraception, contraception, pregnancy testing, PEP, PrEP, HIV testing.

Other frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the Solar clinic

Once you have registered at reception, you will be called by a health adviser into a private room. You will be asked some questions about your concerns and based on this offered the appropriate tests, advice and management. You do not have to talk about anything that you do not wish to. We can discuss options for Police Referral if you wish. You will also be offered the option to speak to a worker from Survivors Network.

Yes. They may be asked to wait in the waiting room for some of the appointment time.
