Contraception – Start, Switch or Continue
We offer advice and access to all the different contraception methods. Long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) includes some of the most effective methods, and they don’t depend on you remembering to take or use them to be effective. LARC includes the contraceptive implant, injection and intrauterine devices (IUDs, commonly known as coils). Other methods of contraception include pills (combined and progestogen-only), patches, vaginal rings, diaphragms and caps.

While you are here…
If you are having or planning to have condomless sex with a partner, it’s important to think about protecting yourself from sexually transmitted infections too. We recommend regular sexual health screening. We are also able to offer PrEP (medication to protect against HIV) and can discuss other ways of protecting yourself. If you want more information about this, please discuss it with the clinician you see for contraception or book an appointment.
