Our services are free, confidential and here when you need them. You don’t need to be registered with a GP in Brighton to use our service. If you’re starting university or returning for the new academic year, here are a few simple things you can do to look after your sexual health.
Create your online account
Once you have your Brighton and Hove address you can register for a Patient Health Record (PHR), which lets you manage your sexual health care online.
Your Patient Health Record will let you:
- manage appointments
- order STI test kits
- view test results
- receive secure messages from clinic staff.
Your PHR is one way to access our services — you can still use our other services such as walk-in appointments if you don’t have an account.
Do a routine STI test
Starting a new academic year is a good opportunity to have a routine STI test. Testing is free and you can:
- order an at-home STI test using your PHR
- collect one from an STI test kit vending machine
- pick up a free chlamydia/gonorrhoea test from any C-Card site.
Collect free condoms
If you’re under 25 you can use the Brighton and Hove C-Card app to get free condoms and lube. Register through the C-Card app, then collect from participating sites across the city.

- PEP after possible exposure to HIV
- PrEP to prevent HIV
- vaccinations
If you think you may have been exposed to HIV, get urgent PEP advice as soon as possible. PEP needs to be started within 72 hours of possible exposure.
We have a range of clinics including ones specifically designed for under 25s, men who have sex with men, and trans and non-binary people.
